    Session Descriptions
    This session, given by the NSCA 2012 Personal Trainer of the Year, will take you through the proper steps to developing a professional plan of action that will lead you to a long and successful career as a certified personal trainer.
    The use of periodization can be highly effective, especially when adjustments are made to this method of training for the recreational exercise participant.
    This session provides professional trainers with the knowledge and practical skills to develop and supervise athletic protocols for the high school athlete into their collegiate career. Through this course, participants will learn specific techniques for training the athletic population in preparation for collegiate athletics.
    Participants will compare and contrast the role that nutrition has on the adolescent athlete, the role of nutrients in the body related to sport performance, and where to locate the proper nutrients as foods. Participants will also learn practical techniques to communicate this information to clients for immediate use.
    Using Fascial Stretch Therapy in Training to Win

    In this session, participants will learn the dynamic exercise techniques that most closely represent the movements and loads that will be required of your body on the court, field, course, track, mat, or in the water.
    Exercise and workout plans should not be random but based on a system or format. This lecture and hands on session will focus on how you should approach your client’s workouts with blueprint to guarantee goal success.
    Adapted Training w/o Tools

    This session offers exercise and health professionals the opportunity to explore a variety of resistance training exercise modalities with the use of traditional strength training tools. Through this session, the learner will be able to describe, demonstrate, and instruct correct form and the purpose of various types of resistance training exercises.
