A few months ago I passed the CSCS. I am currently applying for physical therapy schools right now, but I am thinking about getting an additional certification in the mean time. I was hoping to get other's opinion on what certification they would recommend that would benefit me both in the personal training and physical therapy fields. I was looking at the CES along with a few other certifications offered by the NASM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your goal is Physical Therapy I think the CES would be a great way to go. I've been an NSCA-CPT for almost 10 years and am now taking the CES course. The content is outstanding.

Hi Matt,

I work as a therapist in an outpatient clinic and I would also recommend the new CSPS certification. Almost every single patient I see has some co-morbid condition along with an orthopedic issue. It is crucial to know how your exercise interventions will impact the patient in all situations.
