Welcome
A major goal of the Foundation is to maximize assets in order to increase grants and scholarships for NSCA members. Donations come from contributors and selected sponsors who are also dedicated to science and research.
With the growth of the Foundation, the NSCA has the ability to give back to its membership, affirming its mission of being the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning, supporting and disseminating research-based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness.
President’s Message
I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Dr. Joseph P. Weir and acknowledge his outstanding work as the first ever NSCAF President. His sophisticated understanding of fiduciary aspects, coupled with unparalleled leadership led to significant gains in our Foundation endowment. The result has been increased funding of grants and scholarships to NSCA members for educational and research activities that enhance the practical application of strength and conditioning. Thank You Joe.
As of this writing, the Foundation has exceeded $3 million (see chart below). Therefore, funding for 2010 will almost double from that of 2009 in support of the NSCA’s research mission. Consequently, this generates greater opportunities for NSCA members involved in high school, college, graduate school and Doctoral study towards the practical application of athletic performance and fitness.

Please go to the Governance page of the NSCAF website to view the Foundation’s ‘Spending Policy’ and ‘Investment Policy Statement’. These two important documents lay the framework for how our endowment is invested and spent. A very big Thank You to NSCAF Board of Directors members Dr. Jeff Stout and Dr. Joan Eckerson for their diligent efforts this past year.

Lee E. Brown, EdD, CSCS*D, FNSCA
