Considering the vast amount of aspiring Collegiate S&C professionals, in relation to the limited number of positions available, what advice can you offer a young coach to make them and their resume stand out amongst the competition?

Make as many connections as possible. Go to clinics, go and sit down with people and learn what they are doing. Some will not give you the time of day others will be great. Also connect with the coaches of sports programs. If they know you and they move on there is another resource to contact.

On a other side note is people can also look at the high school route. Its not as glamorous as the college scene but the stability is somewhat better and depending on where you are the facilities can be awesome. A good example is Deer Park High School. (Google It) They are south of Houston and have 2 full time stength coaches and run a 11,000 square foot facility.
