Hi Everyone,

We are looking to improve activity and use the Forum as a platform to share information on various topics.  I want to take this opportunity to open the Forum for suggestion of topics on improving and growing as Strength & Conditioning Professionals.  Are there certain challenges you're facing with your student-athletes?  Need a place to share ideas with other professionals?  Looking for an opportunity to mentor a young coach, or be mentored by an established professional?  Let's take advantage of the Forum for a way to stay connected and share thoughts and ideas.

Heading into the 2014 Coaches Conference, I'll pose this question:

What is networking to you?

To me, networking is about building relationships with other professionals in the hopes of exchanging knowledge and ideas.  It by no means is limited to interacting with other members of our profession, but building relationships with successful and accomplished individuals that can offer valuable insight in providing the best service possible to our student-athletes, coaches, administrators and institutions as a whole.  For example, sharing ideas with an Academic Advisor on how you each interact with student-athletes may provide valuable insight into how to better communicate a message to a given individual while simultaneously demonstrating your ability to function with other members of the Athletic Department.

Please feel free to join in on the conversation!

Lastly, please join us for our Annual SIG Meeting at the 2014 Coaches Conference on Saturday January 11th at 11:30am.  We'll be joined by Dr. Carwyn Sharp and Jon Jost.
